This is a place for me to post about my life as a stay at home mum living in the UK. An American married to a British man.

I can not post everyday but will post as often as I can.

Little one baking!

Making Grammy Metcalfe's Oat Biscuits.

Today I did some baking with little K. It was the first time I let her do alot of it. She was rolling the dough out and cutting them out. She loved it. She would roll it out and then ask if it was thin enough. If it wasn't then she would keep rolling.

She loved cutting them out.

More cutting.

Some of the uncooked biscuits waiting to go into the oven.

She is so little she could not reach high enough to roll and cut so she sat on the counter. :)

I kept having to remind her not to cut one on top of the other. To cut next to each other.

working hard on rolling.

She was quite amused that it stuck to the roller when it got to sticky.

More rolling.

Enjoying her fruits of her labor!

Girly Day...

C went with daddy to Birmingham bike show and the little boys are in school so its just us girls at home today. so its a girly day. playing with dolls, baking, laundry and of course cleaning. :) thats a daily thing in this household. Not sure yet what is in store for this afternoon, other then a nice sleep. :)

We have successfully potty trained little one. Actually she decided on her own she did not want to wear nappies anymore, we did have a few accidents but for the last two 1/2 weeks she has been in panties during the day. Nap time and bed time she is still wearing them, that always takes longer. In the last two weeks she has only had 4 accidents so thats pretty good. She keeps telling me shes a big girl now and wears panties. :) She is 3 in Dec so its great to have her out of so many nappies in a day.

Trying to figure out what to do with my kitchen. Its the one room we really have not done anything to it since moving in 4 years ago. I'd really like to get some shelves built etc to have my pans hang off of etc. Been looking at different pictures of kitchens. My some kitchens are so plush! I dont need anything fancy just something simple and practical. I like the ikea systems but they are so expensive, might try looking on ebay for some of the things. Have to also look at paint colors as we have never painted in there.

Any suggestions on colors? remember its a British kitchen so its smaller then most American ones and I want it bright an airy.

Till next time.

Sniffles, School and Daddys trip.

I guess its that time of year again. With the boys back in school they are bringing home new cold germs and delightfully spreading them with all of us. My littlest has had a fever but still bouncing around here playing, she just likes to cuddle alot. which I dont mind with how I am feeling. The rest have runny noises and coughs. dosing everyone up on ech and vit C hopefully that will help them not get too sick.

This picture does a pretty good job in explaining how I feel right now. I have not had a proper cold in a couple of years so it has really made me feel tired.

In other news school is going really well. The two younger boys have settled into school really well. They both love it and so it does make it easier getting them up and to school each day.

The older two are hard at work here. C is determined to do two years in one year so we will see how that plays out. He's not behind he just wants to get ahead. And when C is determined about something he can do it. :)

K was in Holland for 6 days last week. He had my computer so I was unable to post till now. He really enjoyed his time. You can see what things he did etc on his blog. www.velomobiles.co.uk

He brought back a bunch of dutch treats for us all. The kids love dutch food so were pretty excited.

In school we are learning dutch this year (there cousins are half dutch and lots of friends are dutch so they want to be able to speak dutch :) ) so it is fun trying to read the ingredients and figure them out. we have a good laugh doing it.

Believe it or not I am still working on getting there chore board finished. Dont get me wrong they are doing there chores but I have a temp thing for them to put them into. I have to wait 4 weeks before I can put the Vinyl names onto the board as I have painted it.

Well its quiet here at the moment. Everyone except little one and I are out at Church as its communion session this weekend. I think I will take advantage of the quiet and get a little rest.

Enjoy your day. :)

Day out with my son.

Yesterday I had the privilege to spend the day out with my eldest son just him and me.

I had to go in and do my barometric reading for my immigration and so C came with me. We went via train into Leeds. After we got my stuff sorted we went shopping for trousers for him and then I let him pick next what he wanted to do. So he picked bowling. He loved it! It was a lot of fun just having time with just him. With five I hardly get just one on one time. Here are pictures from the day hope you enjoy.

On our way in on the train.

Bowling

My turn

Having fun.

He really worked at tossing the balls correctly.

Enjoying hot chocolate after our game.
